Ah well the modding kit + an AGS-001 will probably run you more than the AGS-101 would. IIRC you just need a 101 screen, and maybe a voltage regulator to use the 101 screen on a 001 board. The kits are primarily to turn AGB-001s into 101s. I'm assuming you are referring to the kits that come with ribbon cable adapters.
